Lead Mechanical Engineer

What you'll do

We are seeking a motivated and experienced (medior - senior) Mechanical Engineer for one of our top clients in the energy sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and customization of specialized products to meet specific customer requirements. You will thus be in direct contact with the customer, and be involved in making design adjustments, addressing technical inquiries, lead the design teams, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design of Customer Solutions Engineering projects
• Manage the mechanical aspects of customer requirements and deliverables.
• Be in direct communication with the customer
• Propose, define, and implement mechanical solutions to bridge the gap between standard products and customer/project/site-specific requirements.
• Utilize Solid Edge for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Collaborate with the CAD team for outsourcing modeling and drafting tasks when necessary.
• Ensure the consistent quality and timely completion of project deliverables.
• Support customer communication and product training.
• Collaborate closely with the Application Engineer and Customer Solutions Engineering Manager.
• Report to the Lead Integration Engineer Customer Solutions.

Who we're looking for

• Min. 2 years experience as Mechanical Engineer in the O&G, chemical, process, offshore ... industry or equivalent
• Background in EPC is preferred
• Experience in SolidEdge (must) and Windchill or equivalent software
• Located in Belgium with the ability to work on site twice a week.
• Understanding of welding techniques, tolerance stack-up/DVA, GD&T ASME Y14.5, iDFMEA
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs
• Able to outsource design tasks to a global team of engineers.
• Experience with structural design of specialized installations (static industrial installations, skid-based machinery and piping design).
• Familiarity with mechanical design of high voltage electrical systems is a bonus
