Project Engineer Offshore
What you'll do
Service expectations:
The Project Engineer Island :
• Reports to the Island Engineer.
• Works in a multidisciplinary team together with, amongst others, project manager, the Island package manager, lead engineers and engineers, experts, procurements officers, HSE experts, PMO officer, …
• Supports the development of the project during all phases of the island package, specifically focussing on third party engineering verifications and approvals.
• You draw up proposals for technical improvements and for safety enhancements by making a proactive contribution to the feedback process
• As the project engineer you will assist the Island Engineer and Package Manager during the Early Works phase, for the tasks below:
• Coordination and follow up of third parties (independent calculation, document reviews, site inspections, certificate of approvals, …).
• Follow-up and identification of risks and bottlenecks in the Island verification process.
• Follow-up and identification of the risks related to the island design and construction based on the input from third parties, lead engineers, the island contractor, …
• Assistance with progress, planning and budget of the third parties.
• Coordination between third parties, island lead engineers and other packages so that the required inputs are delivered in a timely manner.
• Prepare and report on the input required from the Employer to the third parties and vice versa.
• Coordinate interfaces between different third parties and internal packages (Marine Warranty Surveyor, Certification Authority and Owner’s Engineer).
• You assist in the schedule management, understanding its criticality for the overall project
• You assist in the risk management as part of an overall project risk management strategy
5 days a week travelling between Brussel’s office and Contractor’s office (between Brussels and the seaside)
Who we're looking for
Hard skills and soft skills:• You have at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the field of marine, dredging or offshore engineering.
• Education: Civil or Electromechanical Engineer (Master);
• Experience in coordination of projects, offshore engineering, vessel activities, or construction sites.
• Experience in writing technical specifications, method statements or other reports and understand the criticalities within a project and communicate clearly;
• You have experience in working on multi-disciplinary and complex projects;
• Experience in QA/QC in the marine sector is a plus;
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
• Has to have an open and transparent way of communication;
• Working structured, independent and precise;
• You are a smooth, assertive communicator and a resourceful accountable team player;
• A quick learner;
• Highly motivated to be part of an exciting Offshore wind project;
• Excellent MS Office skills;
Fluent in English and French or Dutch
