What you'll do

As a member of the project team and under the Project Manager’s supervision, the Process Engineer is involved at all stages of a project, from the chemical process concept definition to the design phases until the site implementation. In addition, the process engineer participates in technical audits and commissioning of plants.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Review process documents from technology licensors
  • Prepare block flow diagram, process flow diagrams, heat & mass balances and P&ID’s
  • Determine the process specifications of the principal equipment and instruments
  • Develop mass balances for process and utilities
  • Size process equipment: pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, solids handling, piping accessories
  • Determine the calculation conditions
  • Prepare equipment list
  • Writing of technical specification for procurement
  • Writing of functional description
  • Transmit all information and specifications to the other engineering disciplines
  • Prepare operating manual
  • Participate to project process reviews
  • Participate to Hazop reviews
  • Participate in 3D review
  • Prepare technical notes and comments
  • Participate in technical meeting, as the technical owner in his field, with the client
  • Follow-up the project’s progress up to its completion
  • Participate to pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of new / revamped Plants.

 

Who we're looking for

Education and experience
  • Master in Master's degree in chemical or process engineering
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a process-oriented engineering company or or in activities related to the processes
  • Good knowledge of engineering sequences, process unit operations, thermodynamics, heat transfer
  • A site or construction experience is an asset
  • Willing to travel internationally (up to 20%)
  • Languages: Fluent English is mandatory, French and other languanges are an asset
