Benjamin Cerckel’s experience as Marketing & Communication intern at Catalay

2 min read

As my three-month internship at Catalay comes to a close, I reflect on the valuable experiences I have gained during my time here. Upon returning to Catalay, I was given the responsibility of managing and programming the company’s social media platforms.

This opportunity allowed me to expand my knowledge in the fields of digital and corporate communication, and I was able to work independently on various tools available to the Sisu Group. Moreover, I had the privilege of contributing to marketing development and creating content for the internal app, which further enhanced my skillset!

Throughout the duration of my internship, I developed self-confidence in my work, as well as a stronger sense of organization and teamwork. Catalay provided me with 360° training on marketing and communication in a company where collaboration and communication between teams are highly valued.

Joining Catalay meant becoming a part of the Sisu ecosystem, which allowed me to interact with people from all over the country and broaden my horizons.

At the beginning of my internship, I was not familiar with engineering jobs and felt a bit overwhelmed during my first meeting. However, the Catalay team quickly put me at ease and took the time to explain every aspect of the company and guide me throughout my internship.

I am grateful to Marie Foret for providing me with this opportunity and for her guidance during my time at Catalay. I would also like to express my gratitude to Caterina Janssens and Leendert Coene, with whom I closely worked, as well as to all the people I collaborated with in the Antwerp and Braine-L’Alleud offices.

To future trainees, I encourage you to take advantage of the rich and varied learning experience that Catalay offers!

You will be joining a strong brand with employees who are deeply committed to their work, creating a dynamic and positive work environment. And last but not least… there is a fridge stocked with chocolate bars and fruit, a small but very appreciated perk :-)!

Thank you for all your efforts during your internship, Benjamin! We wish you well and an amazing future!
